Wrinkle Reduction Treatment in Abu Dhabi

Wrinkles are born from squinting, smiling, frowning – any facial movement – as well as time and aging. Wrinkle Reduction Treatment can be used to relax these muscles, preventing squinting and frowning, which improves the appearance of wrinkles and may prevent them from worsening. At this time, Wrinkle Reduction Treatments are FDA-approved treatment in the US for these indications, and it has been safely used for facial wrinkles since the very early 1980’s.

  • Indications

    To treat severe underarm sweating

To reduce the cosmetic appearance of wrinkles

  • In Preparation For Your Treatment

For ten days prior to your appointment, avoid supplements or medications that make you bruise, such as medication that reduce inflammation (ibuprofen products like Advil and Brufen), as well as aspirin, green tea, vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba and Saint – John’s Worts.

However, you may take Tylenol, which does not affect blood platelet function like the others do. Purchase a product containing arnica or vitamin K, and/or retinol. This can be applied after the procedure to prevent and treat bruises. On the day of your treatment, try to be as relaxed as you can. Remember, this really is easy.

We will apply a topical anesthetic cream to the area being treated, usually the forehead, between the brows, or the crow’s feet at the outside corners of the eyes, about twenty minutes before the treatment begins.

  • What To Expect?

The treatment involves injections via a tiny needle, which is about the size of an acupuncture needle. When a topical anesthetic is used first, most people don’t feel the injection. Frown lines usually require three injections, crows –feet receive three injections per side, and lines in the forehead usually get five to eight injections. Following treatment, your skin may show a few raised bumps in the area of the injection that look like insect bites. These typically last about thirty minutes. Bruising can also occur (though this is more likely in redheads), so remember to apply the arnica or vitamin K and retinol at the first sign of bruising.

  • Follow Up/After Care Instructions

Patients can immediately resume to use all skin care makeup after the treatment. Avoid facials, facial massage, steam rooms, saunas, vigorous exercise and hot showers for 4 hours because these may increase your risk of bruising.

  • Side Effects

The most common side effect is bruising which can be prevented by avoiding the medications and supplements mentioned above. Treating the forehead can result in heaviness of the upper eyelids. This resolves in one week in some cases, however, it may last for the duration of the treatment. Droopiness of the eyelid (ptosis) rarely occurs after injection of the frown lines.

  • What To Expect After?

After three days you will notice decreased movement in the treated area, it takes ten days for the full effects to be seen.  If you can make the treated area move by flexing the muscles or if you notice any asymmetry-uneven result on one side or the ability to move only on one side-the treatment hasn’t worked as it should, and you will need a retouch. Retouches are done free of charge.

  • Treatment Results

Your wrinkles may not completely disappear but the muscles underneath them should quit moving. It may take four to eight months without movement before the wrinkles begin to smooth out, which will happen especially if you are following the recommended skin care regimen at the same time. All patients should be using daily sunscreen. The injection provides temporary wrinkle-correction so expect to return for follow-up treatments every three to six months. It is better not to let the it completely wear off because this will help prevent the wrinkles form returning.

DERMAL FILLERS

Soft tissue dermal fillers are substances that can be injected into the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, plump lips, fill out hollow cheeks, improve scars, elevate deep folds and repair various facial imperfections. The result is a smoother, more youthful appearance with minimal “downtime” and maximum safety. Variety of soft tissue fillers including collagen, Hyaluronic acid and one’s own fat have greatly expanded the options available to treat aging skin. Filler substances are quick, safe, easy and provide instant gratification.

The aging process generally causes a loss of volume as the underlying collagen, Hyaluronic acid, and elastic fibers begin to deteriorate, and fat stores in the face decrease. This most commonly occurs around the eyes, mouth, cheeks, the jaw line, the brow, and bridge of the nose. These age-related changes produce crow’s feet, laugh lines, folds and furrows on the forehead, and “hills and valleys” on the lower third of the face. At Corpofino Dermatology clinic, we can use these fillers to sculpt the face and restore a youthful look to your appearance.

  • How Do Soft Tissue Dermal Fillers Work?

A filler substance is injected beneath the surface of the skin where it corrects the line or wrinkle by temporarily plumping and smoothing out the skin depression. Most fillers replace the lost components of the skin: collagen, Hyaluronic acid and elastin.

Fillers can also be placed into the lips to create a fuller, more youthful look, or in the hollows of the cheeks to reduce gaunt appearance. Facial scarring from acne or injury also responds well to soft tissue filler techniques.

Soft tissue fillers are often considered a first line of defense against skin and are frequently used in combination with other techniques for facial rejuvenation.

  • What Should I Do Before The Treatment?

Ten days prior to your appointment avoid ingesting substance that will increase your tendency to bruise. Many herbal and alternative medicine products may increase bruising so discuss use of these with your dermatologist. The following are known to increase bruising: alcohol, green tea, ibuprofen, aspirin, Coumadin, warfarin, and St. John’s Wort.

  • What Should I Expect During And After Treatment?

Injecting soft tissue filler is a relatively simple process in the office. The down time is minimal. Most patients do not bruise when they follow these recommendations. However, if you have an event such as a wedding or photo shoot, we recommend that you receive the filler treatment at least 10 days prior to the event in case bruising occurs. Bruising is more likely to occur in very light skinned individuals and red heads. Prior to the procedure, you will remove all make up and a topical anesthetic is applied to the area being treated. A very small needle is used to inject the filler directly to the skin. Immediately after the procedure, there may be some temporary swelling, redness or minor bruising at the injection sites. This usually subsides and fades quickly. Makeup can be reapplied immediately after the treatment. You may return to normal activities, however, avoid hot showers, saunas or other exposure to heat for 6 hours because these may increase the risk of bruising. Avoid sun exposure and alcohol for 24 hours; these have been associated with redness.

  • Are There Any Possible Risks?

All medical procedures carry some risk. However, soft tissue fillers are generally considered safe and effective procedures. Apart from an allergic reaction to the injected substance, side effects are few and typically related to the local injection.

  • How Long Does The Improvement Last?

The length of time the improvement may last depends on the type of filler used, the areas treated & the ability of the patient’s skin to absorb the materials.

  • Indications

    Plump thin lips

    Shallow contours

    To soften facial creases

    Improve appearance of wrinkles

Improve the appearance of recessed scars.

    Improve skin texture

SKIN BOOSTERS

The Skin Booster treatment is the gold standard skin hydrator for a radiant and glowing complexion...

If you're looking to boost your skin's hydration, improve your collagen production, and achieve an overall rejuvenated complexion, Skin Boosters are the youth-restoring injectable beauty treatment to try!

As we age, we naturally lose collagen and hyaluronic acid, so our skin becomes dehydrated more easily. Coupled with the harsh local weather, it's no surprise why beauty procedures, including skin boosters, are a welcome treat for your skin.

  • What are skin Boosters?

Skin Boosters are micro-injections of dermal fillers (hyaluronic acids) in the skin.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, they are not injected beneath the skin to volumize or shape the face. Instead, they are very fine dermal fillers that are injected into the skin to hydrate and improve skin quality.

This type of dermal filler can be injected over large treatment areas of the face, neck, and hands to increase the skin’s hydration quality. During the treatment, the multiple injections activate the fibroblasts promoting new collagen and elastin formation. With the production of new collagen and elastin, patients can expect firmer and more youthful skin

  • Who can have this treatment?

This treatment is suitable for all patients who are not pregnant or breastfeeding.

It is recommended for patients who want to improve the overall quality and the degree of hydration of their skin.

  • What results can be expected with Skin Boosters?

Benefits of the Skin Booster treatment include:

    Boosting skin hydration

Improving skin quality (texture, elasticity, and firmness)

Lessening the appearance of acne scarring

    Reducing fine lines

    Complementing other treatments

    Improving imperfections of the skin

Patients notice a more dewy and firmer appearance to the skin, and more of a ‘glow’ as a result. The skin booster treatment works exceptionally well at enhancing the results of other treatments.

  • Which type of filler are used in Skin Boosters?

The dermal fillers that are used in skin booster treatments are non-cross-linked fillers. Therefore, they also produce no lumping in the final result, although there may be some temporary small lumps visible initially after the treatment for a few hours.

The fillers are injected into the superficial part of the skin where fibroblasts are housed. Fibroblast stimulation by injection of the filler causes new collagen and elastin formation in the skin. Fillers that are used are also formulated with 14 types of antioxidants and vitamins within the filler to nourish the skin.

  • What are the potential side effects of injectable hyaluronic acid?

Common side effects for injectable hyaluronic acid may include:

    Swelling

    Bruising

    Bleeding

    Lumps and bumps

    Redness

However, these reactions only last a few days.
